Nurturing My Senses
by Rev. Rita Scheibeck
As I close my eyes and take a few peaceful breaths, I allow myself to settle into and enjoy my physical senses.
I feel the muscles around my eyes, my lips and my face become lax and I allow myself to feel a gentle breeze flowing over me, cooling me, comforting me, and bringing me contentment.
While I relax, I imagine soft music for my ears, maybe the tones of a flute or a harp, or the easy sounds of nature's calming melodies.
My mouth comes into my awareness also, as I enjoy the fanciful flavor of a ripe, textured fruit, savoring the sweetness on my tongue and tasting the juices at the corners of my lips.
As I conjure the pure aroma in the air after a steady, cleansing rain, I perceive the earth around me as fresh and fragrant and soothing.
With my eyes closed, I discover the sight of my third eye and I project the great power of my spiritual vision. I am enlightened by the forms that begin to take shape as I visualize what comes easily to my consciousness. I can observe my spirit guides and my angels as they watch over me, bringing me clear pictures of complete wholeness, overflowing abundance, and harmonious peace. I see myself as a perfect creation of an All-Loving Source, ready to accept the absolute goodness that comes to me.
By nurturing my senses and allowing them to flow I gain insights and wisdom from my time of relaxation.
Affirmation: My senses now create the miracles of my body and enlighten my mind.
I now allow, acknowledge, accept, and affirm that this is so.
