Self Care
by Rev. Rita Scheibeck
When I am thirsty, I need clean water to drink. When I am hungry, I want nourishing food to eat. When I tire, I must rest or even sleep. When I am melancholy or upset, I might find a friend with a listening ear to hear my troubles. When I want reassurance, the encouragement of a trusted mentor can set me on the right path. When I'm feeling spiritually empty or conflicted, I can search out the uplifting counsel of an enlightened advisor or coach. When I am unsettled or anxious, I become still and relax in the rejuvenating silence. When I am feeling unworthy, it may be necessary to consciously take some quiet time to mentally and emotionally join my heart with the unconditional Love of the Holy Spirit.
I identify and take care of my needs when they arise, searching out people and processes that can assist me to become healthier, calmer, and more satisfied with myself and with my life.
Affirmation: I now practice self care in the best ways I can and take joy in fulfilling my body, mind, and spirit in all ways.
I now allow, acknowledge, accept, and affirm that this is so.
