Dissolving Boulders III: The Power of Intuitive Guidance
by Rev. Rita Scheibeck
Did you ever walk into a room and just know that something was off? Have you met someone with whom you had an instant connection, but something in the back of your mind told you not to go there? Have you received an intuitive instruction that you disregarded and then immediately regretted not listening?
Yep, your intuitive guidance, AKA your gut feelings, are working just fine. It's your confidence in your instincts that's missing, and that is not usually a good thing. When we're not listening or following through, we can get ourselves into all kinds of trouble and later regret many of our choices because, "I knew better."
Sometimes we second guess, deny, or rebel against our instincts with "What if's," "That can't be true's," and "I don't want to's!" Other times we don't hear the messages clearly because we're too focused on other things. And in many cases, we're just too afraid to follow through on the guidance we receive.
When we seem to be stuck in place and unable to move forward, however, it's our own intuition that will most often guide us to our best possible outcomes and eventual blessings. We just need to find the reassurance to break out of our indecision and hesitations.
Here, we can fall back on our technique of intentioned meditations. We might even begin to build positive affirmations around the clarity we receive from our time in the silence.
We can also ask for a clear, tangible sign from our spirit guides. There's nothing wrong with getting confirmation for our inner perceptions from outer manifestations that give us a green light to move forward with more confidence.
When we still can't believe our inner guidance, it pays to have an ace in the hole. We'll talk more about that next week when we discuss our our "back up."
Affirmation: My focused listening, my affirmations, my clear messages and visible signs from Spirit now bring me the reassurance and confidence I need to take action on my intuitive guidance.
I now allow, acknowledge, accept, and affirm that these things are so.

This is such a great reminder for even those of us who experience high intuitive skills. While we may "read" for others, we are often less trusting of our own messages. In my training as a Healing Touch practitioner and instructor, I was taught that of the 7 "Claires" that clairesentience was the least trusted "gift" as those experiencing a message in thoughts generally felt that there was a strong possibility that they were "making it up." What we were instructed to do was simply listen and trust. And, also, to, as you recommend, ASK for verification from Higher Self, et al.
